Reminder: Common App System Refresh

Each year, the Common App goes offline to prepare for the launch of the new application. 

The 2022-2023 first-year application will close to students and recommenders at 5 pm ET on July 27. The transfer application will close to students and recommenders at 5 pm ET on July 28.

The 2023-2024 application will launch on August 1. 

While the system is offline, there are still many productive ways for students to prepare for the upcoming application season:

• Explore over 1,000 unique colleges and universities that accept the Common App.
• Brainstorm ideas for the Common App essay. Need some inspiration on how to begin? Check out the 2023-2024 essay prompts and our resource on approaching the essay in English and Spanish. 
• Begin completing brag sheets. Our counselors, teachers, and family brag sheets help students gather important information about themselves to help those writing letters of recommendation on their behalf.
• College costs are at the front of many students’ minds. Learn how to make college more affordable.
